As Chairman of Governors I would like to warmly welcome you to St John Fisher. I have had a very long association with the school as teacher, parent and now governor. St John Fisher is a school where your children will be very well cared for. Staff do over and above what is expected of them and achieve great success in academic work, sports and performing arts. I believe your children will enjoy all aspects of their time at St John Fisher and become valued members of our school community.
The governing body comprises volunteers drawn from staff, parents, the Archdiocese (foundation governors) and the LEA. The Archdiocese appoint foundation governors, the LEA
appoint a representative and staff and parents elect their governors. The foundation governors ensure that the Catholic ethos of the school is maintained.
Message From Mrs Rigby
Welcome to the St John Fisher website.
I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of this vibrant, welcoming and aspiring school which is committed to the formation of successful, resilient and well-rounded young people.
Everything we do is rooted in our Catholic ethos; we are a proper Catholic school where everyone is welcome, everyone is expected to thrive and fulfil their potential. We believe that young people flourish in a safe, caring and positive environment knowing that they are loved by God. We challenge our pupils to do their best in whatever they do.
As you browse the site, you will see various examples of the many ways our pupils work, learn, share in our community and, ultimately, succeed.
We are proud of our achievements; our recent ‘Good’ Ofsted report and ‘Outstanding’ Diocesan report are testimony to the hard work we do and how we strive to make every individual in our school a decent human being. Of course, there is always more to be done and our Governors and entire staff are focused on becoming even better as we learn together as a community in Christ.
I hope this website gives you a taste of life and learning at St John Fisher. If we can provide any further information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone us on 01942 510715.
