Welcome to St John Fisher!

​The deadline for applications for a secondary school place for St John Fisher is 31 October 2024. You must have completed the online application form with Wigan Council and clicked submit and completed the supplementary faith form (see below for a download) by this time. 

 

Please either hand the supplementary faith form to school reception at St John Fisher or email admissions@sjf.wigan.sch.uk. If you do not do this, your application will be treated as a late application and you may not get the school you applied for.

How to Apply

You can only apply online through the Wigan portal. You must have chosen your 3 school preferences by Thursday 31 October 2024. Use the link below to apply for a place:

As well as completing the online form, as we are a Catholic school, you also MUST complete the supplementary faith form and supply us with a copy of the baptism certificate. If we do not receive a baptism certificate, your child's application will be ranked lower in the school places list. If you do not give this information to the school your child may be refused a place.

Appeals and waiting lists

If you have been refused a place at our school, you have the right to appeal that decision. Children refused a place at St John Fisher Catholic High School will be added to the school's waiting list.

To appeal for a place at our school, you will need to: 

  • Contact the Archdiocese of Liverpool Schools Department by calling 0151 522 1071

Applying for a place at St John Fisher during the school year (Mid-Year Applications)

Before you apply for a place at our school, we strongly recommend you contact us and a arrange a visit to our school to see if it is the appropriate school for your child. Please ring 01942 510715.

You will need to download, print and complete the application form. There are two stages to the application process, you need to fully complete all sections of the form prior to returning it to prevent delay. Incomplete forms may be returned.
