St John Fisher has received a heart-warming letter from the crew at HMS Blyth praising the pupils’ ‘generosity and kindness’ over Christmas. In November, our Y10 pupils embarked on a project to collect Christmas goodies and messages to send to service men and women serving in the Royal Navy over the festive period. Y10 sent off several boxes and this effort was organised and co-ordinated by one of our Y10 pupils, Beth Molyneux. This week we received this kind letter from Commanding Officer Martin from HMS Blyth, together with a cuddly camel, which was symbol of where the ship is currently based, a ship’s badge and thank you cards for each form. The photos show Mrs Rigby reading the attached letter and excited pupils reading the thank you cards to their form members. We are lucky to have such thoughtful and generous pupils along with their parents and guardians.
