Year Nine student Connie has raised money for the charity Nugent by running the Wigan 5km – and has already exceeded her target!
Connie is a Faith in Action group member at school working towards her silver pin.
Part of the award is to complete 20 hours of ‘good deeds’ credits in the community which involve such events as fundraising, volunteering for a charity, organising a parish social event and participating in a school assembly.
Connie has raised money for the Joining Jack charity previously but this year she decided to raise money for Nugent, a charity which cares for, educates and protects vulnerable children, young people and adults through our schools, care homes, and community and social work services.
Connie does not particularly like running however this was her 5th 5k, each time using her efforts to raise money for charity.
Connie organised and completed the race on her own.
Everyone at SJF is proud of Connie and she is a pupil who always has a massive smile on her face.
